Why is polypropylene fiber developing so rapidly?

A Chinese trade name for isotactic polypropylene fibers made from propylene, a by-product of petroleum refining. Also known as polypropylene fiber. The raw material source is rich, the production process is simple, and the product price is relatively low than other synthetic fibers. The physical and mechanical properties of the fiber are characterized by: high strength (short fiber is 4 ~ 6 g/denier, filament is 5 ~ 8 g/denier), wet strength and dry strength are basically the same, the specific gravity is small (0.91), wear and corrosion resistance. World annual production of polypropylene fiber in 1980 has exceeded 1 million tons.

Polypropylene fiber is made from propylene as raw material by polymerization, melt spinning fiber. Polypropylene, which officially began industrial production in 1957, is a rising star in synthetic fibers. Because polypropylene has the advantages of simple production process, cheap products, high strength, relatively light density, etc., polypropylene has developed rapidly. At present, polypropylene is the fourth largest variety of synthetic fibers and the lightest fiber among common chemical fibers.

The production of polypropylene includes short fibers, filaments and split film fibers. Polypropylene membrane fiber is made of polypropylene film, and then the film is stretched, so that it is split into a network of fibrillar.

Polypropylene fiber chemical properties: near the flame that melt shrink, flammable, slow burning from the fire and black smoke, the upper end of the flame yellow, the lower end of the blue, exudes the smell of oil, after burning the ashes for hard round light yellow brown particles, hand twist fragile.

Hubei Botao Synthetic Fiber Co., Ltd. was founded in October 2000, located in Jingmen City, Hubei Province, specializing in the production and sales of polypropylene, polyester, composite fiber, polylactic acid staple fiber, the products are mainly used in non-woven fabrics, automotive interior, geotextiles, carpets, filtration and other industries.
